Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología is the official journal of the Ophthalmology Society of Spain, that has over 4,000 members. It gives priority to the publication of basic, translational and clinic research including reviews, original articles, short communications, editorials, letters to the editor and clinic practice guides related to Ophthalmology and its subspecialties. A small section of the journal is reserved for the most relevant papers presented at the annual Congress of the Society. All manuscripts considered for publication are reviewed by expert examiner peers (double blind). The journal is published monthly and even though its official language is Spanish all articles are translated into English to increase the dissemination of scientific information. At present, Archivos is the only Spanish language Ophthalmology journal indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE in addition to other prestigious international databases such as Scopus.

Abstract

Case report

We present the clinical case of a 68-year-old woman who developed a pupillary block acute glaucoma due to vitreous hernia into anterior chamber following posterior dislocation of the intraocular lens one month after an Nd:YAG capsulotomy.

Discussion

We should consider these symptoms in the differential diagnosis of pseudophakic acute glaucoma, especially when visualisation of the anterior chamber is difficult due to corneal oedema and Nd:YAG capsulotomy was done.

Caso clínico

Se describe el caso clínico de una mujer de 68 años que presentó un glaucoma agudo secundario a un bloqueo pupilar por herniación vítrea a cámara anterior tras luxación de la lente intraocular a cámara vítrea un mes después de capsulotomía Nd:YAG.

Discusión

Se debe considerar este cuadro clínico en el diagnóstico diferencial del glaucoma agudo seudofáquico, especialmente si existe el antecedente de capsulotomía Nd:YAG y el edema corneal impide una correcta visualización de la cámara anterior.
