Highlights
- •
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is the leading cause of seeking gynecological care, with data showing that 3 in 10 Brazilian women have this condition, with intermenstrual bleeding standing out.
- •
According to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), cycles lasting less than 24 days or more than 38 days, with menstrual flow lasting eight days or more and blood loss reported by the woman as intense, are considered abnormal.
- •
The main causes of AUB are summarized in the mnemonic PALM-COEIN, dividing them into structural and non-structural causes.
- •
Diagnosing the etiology of AUB is essential to establish specific treatments, directed at the cause, which can be clinical or surgical, aiming not only to control the amount of blood loss, but also to improve the quality of life of women with AUB.
- •
In general, the first line of treatment for AUB is medication, with surgical treatment being intended for failure or contraindication to clinical treatment or in cases of significant hemodynamic instability.

- •
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder.
- •
With correct screening and diagnosis, treatment must be offered to improve prognosis.
- •
Adequate treatment in a healthcare setting must be known.
- •
The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) showed improvements in the cognitive, verbal, and social aspects.
- •
Time occasionally can improve some scores independently of the group.

Highlights
- •
Errors during patient care are a huge source of ethical, financial, and even mental problems affecting patients, physicians, and healthcare organizations.
- •
Open disclosure is a process for ensuring that open, honest, empathic and timely discussions occur between patients and/or their support person(s) and healthcare staff following a patient safety incident.
- •
Physicians may avoid or hide errors or blame other health professionals.
- •
Adopting an effective disclosure system, increases the possibility of an agreement between the parties involved, meaning significant savings in financial resources.
- •
Patients want some attitudes from their doctors: an explicit statement that an error occurred and an apology.

Highlights
- •
Mammographic density impacts the primary screening process, as dense tissue may mask tumors, resulting in false-negative results.
- •
Mammographic density is known to be a risk factor for breast cancer, associated with a 1- to 6-fold increase in the incidence of this disease.
- •
In women at average risk, going to annual screening mammography at age 40 has demonstrated a reduction in breast cancer mortality by roughly 20 %.
- •
For women at intermediate and high-risk, supplementary modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, tomosynthesis, and molecular breast imaging may be considered for enhanced screening to increase detection rates.
