Highlights

  • The Spanish version of the Stressful Life Events Schedule (Spanish SLES) is a valid instrument for assessing stressful life events in youth.

  • Adolescents with first-episode psychosis reported more stressful events and impact.

  • Good test-retest reliability and internal consistency was shown across all Spanish SLES versions.

  • There was moderate parent-child agreement and stronger concordance in adolescents than in younger children.

  • The Spanish SLES is a cost-effective tool for clinical and research use in Spanish speaking populations.
