Metodologíaestudio descriptivo-correlacional, en una muestra de 138 estudiantes de Enfermería de una Universidad de Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. Se utilizaron el Trait Meta-Mood Scale-24 (TMMS-24) y la Escala de satisfacción con la vida.
Resultadosse encontró relación positiva y significativa entre los componentes de la IE y la SV (atención [r = 0,181; p < 0,05]; claridad [r = 0,382; p < 0,01] y reparación [r = 0,737; p < 0,01], respectivamente).
Conclusiónexiste relación entre la IE y la SV en la población estudiada. Se identificó un incremento de la claridad y reparación conforme aumentan la edad y el semestre escolar.
Implicacionescaracterizar al estudiante en el ámbito de IE y SV.
Originalidadeste estudio aporta la transversalidad entre la IE y la SV como punto de partida para considerar en los planes de acción en educación y salud.
To analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction in nursing students.
MethodologyA correlational study was conducted with a sample of 138 nursing students from a university in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. The Trait Meta-Mood Scale-24 (TMMS-24) and the Satisfaction with Life Scale were used.
ResultsA positive and significant relationship was found between the components of emotional intelligence and life satisfaction—Attention (r = 0.181; p < 0.05), Clarity (r = 0.382; p < 0.01), and Repair (r = 0.737, p < 0.01), respectively.
ConclusionThe findings indicate a relationship between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction in the studied population. It was identified that both clarity and repair tend to increase with age and academic progression.
ImplicationsUnderstanding students' levels of emotional intelligence and life satisfaction can inform interventions in education and healthcare.
