Call for papers: Point-of-care Ultrasound in Infectious Diseases

This Special Issue offers a comprehensive overview of the role and impact of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases across multiple clinical settings.

The Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Infectious Diseases Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the critical role of bedside ultrasound in diagnosing, monitoring and managing infectious diseases across various clinical scenarios. With the rising importance of rapid, bedside diagnostics, this Special Issue presents nine comprehensive review articles that highlight the utility, challenges and advancements in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications. Clinicians, researchers and healthcare providers will find valuable insights into how POCUS is transforming patient care by enhancing diagnostic accuracy and optimizing clinical outcomes in infectious diseases.

Manuscript submission information:

The Medicina Clínica’s submission system is open for submissions to our special issue titled “Point-of-care Ultrasound in Infectious Diseases”.

 When submitting your manuscript, please select the article type “VSI: Point-of-care Ultrasound in Infectious Diseases” from the drop-down list. And the deadline to submit the manuscript will be 31st August 2025.

All submissions deemed suitable to be sent for peer review will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Once your manuscript is accepted, it will go into production and will be simultaneously published in the current regular issue and pulled into the online Special Issue.

Articles from this Special Issue will appear in different regular issues of the journal, though they will be clearly marked and branded as Special Issue articles.
