Estudios Políticos as a journal of policy analysis primarily publishes the work of research conducted at the Center for Political Studies of the Faculty of Political and Social Science at UNAM. Also, is a consolidated constructive resource for that from the different areas of the social sciences, those teachers and researchers aiming to draw new lines of analysis in the field of political science, can do it in a free, open and plural space, in which the most diverse opinions, analysis and proposals can be encountered in areas such as the Mexican political system and its institutions , political philosophy , political parties , comparative politics , political theory , political sociology by mention some. Between the objectives of the publication also highlights the diffusion of proposals made by young researchers from interdisciplinary approaches which deepen their knowledge of contemporary political reality.
The journal aims to consolidate itself as a forum for expression of academic work of the Center for Studies of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of UNAM, as well as those proposals made in institutions at Mexico and around the world, while seeks to position itself within the group of publications marking pattern in the field of Political Science.
