Resumo

As infecções são as complicações mais sérias no pós-operatório da extracção de terceiros molares. O presente trabalho tem o objectivo de relatar um caso de infecção severa pós extracção de terceiros molares inferiores, onde foi necessário internamento e instituição de protocolo terapêutico baseado em antibioticoterapia, hidratação, analgesia, suporte vitamínico e proteico e calor local. A drenagem foi espontânea e o prognóstico foi bom.

Abstract

The postoperative infectious are the most serious complications after extraction of impacted third molars. A clinical report about acute postoperative infection is presented, where the patient was needed hospitalization and institution of therapeutic protocol based on antibiotics, hydration, analgesia, protein and vitamin support and local heat. The drainage was spontaneous and the prognosis was good.
