Hoy en día sabemos con certeza que algunos pacientes con trastorno bipolar pueden presentar alteraciones a nivel cognitivo que pueden interferir en su funcionamiento global. Los pacientes con trastorno bipolar a menudo reciben tratamientos farmacológicos combinados y suelen referir quejas cognitivas en torno a la medicación. A continuación exponemos el caso de una paciente de 36 años de edad con diagnóstico de trastorno bipolar tipo I que refiere quejas subjetivas cognitivas y que recibe terapia farmacológica combinada. Se realizaron a la paciente diversas exploraciones neuropsicológicas. Se describe el manejo farmacológico que se llevó a cabo con el objetivo de minimizar las quejas cognitivas que presentaba la paciente.
It is well known that some patients with bipolar disorder may present cognitive deficits that may impact their overall functioning. Patients with bipolar disorder often receive combined pharmacological treatment and often report cognitive complaints concerning drugs. The case of a 36-year-old patient with bipolar I disorder is then presented who reported subjective cognitive complaints when receiving combination pharmacological therapy. The patient underwent various neuropsychological examinations. The pharmacological management that was carried out in order to minimize her cognitive complaints is also described.
