Sarcomas are a rare, heterogeneous group of malignant mesenchymal tumors. In the United States, 12020 new cases are diagnosed each year and sarcomas cause 4740 deaths annually. Adult fibrosarcoma is an uncommon spindle-cell sarcoma located in the deep soft tissue of the thorax or extremities of middle-age adults. In September 2011, the Spanish NGO Cirugía Solidaria operated on a 36-year-old male from Cameroon due to a tumor that had been developing over a long period of time in the lumbar-gluteal region (Fig. 1). The tumor was completely resected, and the defect was reconstructed with a V-Y flap (Fig. 2). The patient was discharged 3 days later with no complications.
