State-of-the-Art in Paediatric Urology: Clinical Controversies, Expert Consensus, and International Perspectives

This Special Issue of Actas Urológicas Españolas addresses the current state of practice in key areas of paediatric urology, with emphasis on clinically relevant and high-impact controversies. It features contributions from internationally recognized leaders, including Dr. Pippi Salle (hypospadias), the team from CHOP (Children¿s Hospital of Philadelphia) in Philadelphia (bladder exstrophy), and Dr. Serdar Tekgül Silay (robotic surgery). It also includes high-quality systematic reviews developed by the Paediatric Urology Working Group of the Young Academic Urologists (YAU-PU), focusing on paediatric kidney transplantation and transitional management of vesicoureteral reflux . The collection is further enriched by the contribution of the Erasmus MC team in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), a reference center in perinatal urology, addressing the current approach to prenatal urological anomalies. Additionally, multicenter surveys on stone disease, enuresis, and hormonal treatment of cryptorchidism are included, with active involvement from the European and Ibero-American paediatric urology communities.
