Resumen
Los schwannomas son tumores que crecen de la capa más externa de los nervios periféricos. Pueden aparecer en cualquier parte del cuerpo, pero son muy frecuentes en el área de la cabeza y el cuello. Dentro de esta región, la localización más frecuente es el viii par (80%).
El tratamiento es quirúrgico.

Abstract
Schwannomas are tumours which grow from the most external layer of the peripheral nerves. They can appear in any part of the human anatomy, but are especially common in the head and neck region. Within this area, the most frequent location is the VIII cranial nerve (80%).
Treatment is surgical.
