There is little information available at the national level on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Argentina. The objective was to describe the methodology of the Argentinian Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis Registry (RADECCU).
Patient and methodsRADECCU was developed in 2023 with the aim of facilitating the collection of relevant information from patients with IBD in Argentina. After the registry's website platform was developed (01/2023), a nationwide promotion campaign was carried out to incorporate centers into RADECCU.
ResultsFrom 02/2023 to 6/2025, 69 centers (41 private, 28 public) were incorporated, including 142 professionals, and 4081 patients (2275 women and 1806 men) were enrolled in the registry.
ConclusionRADECCU is the first national IBD registry in Argentina. This registry will provide information on the status of IBD in Argentina and contribute to Latin American data with the potential to generate real-world evidence on different aspects of interest.
Existe escasa información a nivel nacional sobre la enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal (EII) en Argentina. El objetivo fue describir la metodología del Registro Argentino de Enfermedad de Crohn y Colitis Ulcerosa (RADECCU).
Pacientes y métodosRADECCU se desarrolló desde 2023 con el objetivo de facilitar la recolección de información relevante sobre pacientes con EII en Argentina. Posterior a que se desarrolló la plataforma web (01/2023) del registro se realizó una promoción en todo el país para incorporar centros a RADECCU.
ResultadosDesde 02/2023 a 6/2025, se incorporaron 69 centros (41 privados, 28 públicos) incluyendo 142 profesionales y se enrolaron 4081 pacientes (2.275 mujeres y 1.806 hombres) en el registro.
ConclusiónRADECCU es el primer registro nacional de EII en Argentina. Este registro brindará información sobre la situación de la EII en Argentina y contribuirá a los datos latinoamericanos con el potencial de general evidencia de vida real sobre diferentes aspectos de interés.
