Abstract
Objective

This research is dedicated toward and develops an educative comic to increase students’ awareness in a clean and healthy life for elementary school students in Biankuk Merauke.

Methods

Research and Development is used as the method in this research. This research has been done for the grade 2 students of the elementary schools of YPPK Biankuk Merauke with 45 students’ subject of research. An educative comic is a specific product that toward in this research. This educative comic also can be used in the learning process. Qualitative and Quantitative data technique analysis is implemented in this research. Scoring, critic and advice that pursued by the learning expert and apprentice in elementary school are as the qualitative analysis technique. On the otherhand, the analysis of students’ grade 2 of YPPK Biankuk Elementary school of Merauke questions answering that given is as the quantitative analysis technique.

Results

This educative comic can be used. It proved by the 97.12% validation score by the education expert in elementary school, that means very valid. 99.04% quality judging score of this educative comic product by the expert and apprentice in elementary education figured as a very valid category. Educative comic product percentage judging score by the students of Biankuk Elementary School of Merauke is 96.67%, very valid category.

Conclusion

This educative comic is very valid and can be used.

Introduction

Children 7–8 years old are in elementary school grade 2. This edges have ability to read, scratches count. The outcome of learn and socialization way are also drilled. A suitable presenting media can drill the student's ability in this edge such as reading, writing and counting. The media should be interesting because innovative and interesting media will be cheering up the students for learning with the teacher.

An educative comic learning media that have been developed can increase student's learning prestige. It can be used by the students in a group for self-depending and internalized the whole meaning of the theme.1 This educative comic media helps the students to learn, so then they like to write a short story.2 A comic is a lovely learning media for the students.3 Increasing and effectively cognitive learning outcomes in Terms Physics Environment Changes can be done by developing comic media.4

Another problem in YPPK Biankuk Elementary School of Merauke is the students’ learning understanding in theme clean and healthy life behavior. Users are very influencing common peoples to take a part for keeping healthy physics.5 Habits for keeping clean and healthy figured as a good people.6

Using interesting media or reading book influences the students’ learning understanding. In fact, there is a running uninteresting learning process in the YPPK Biankuk Elementary School of Merauke. It is proved by the teacher's result observation using learning package book, LKS and speech. A lot of students could not answer questions about the theme. Researcher is developing an educative comic in theme clean and healthy life students grade 2 YPPK Biankuk elementary school of Merauke. Hopeful by this educative comic, students’ learning understanding will be better and meaningful.

MethodDeveloping model

Developing model includes define, design, develop and disseminate but only researched until the third step (Develop), because in developing model by Thiagarajan if the research until the disseminate step, must be printed and generally produced. This research is publishing as a journal. Due to the limited time and fund this research only did until developing step. The next developing product is implemented to the students grade 2 at the YPPK Biankuk elementary school of Merauke.7

Data analysis technique

Data is processed by qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative analysis is used to process the data score result of material expert validation, media expert, teachers, students that got from the product score.

Result and discussion

Educative Comic Quality Score by the students of elementary school in big scale trial. Educative comic quality score by the students of Biankuk Elementary School categorized “very valid” with criteria “can be used and a little revision”. It proved by getting 96.67% percentage of product quality result score of the educative comic in a big scale product trial.

Educative Comic Quality Score by the learning material expert in elementary school at 3rd step.

Validation result by the learning material expert in elementary school figured that the educative comic product quality develop in 3rd step “very valid” with criteria can be used and a little revision with 97.12% percentage.

Advice:

Give picture at the right bottom or right above the effective and efficient way to wash fingers at the page that told a personage who wash his hand. Then the students understand the correct way to wash their hands.

Educative Comic Quality Score by the Elementary School Learning Apprentice at school 3rd step.

Educative comic validation by each elementary school learning apprentice expert at school, categorized “very valid” with criteria “can be used and a little revision”. It proved by 99.04% percentage.

Advice:

The teacher should motivate the students who do not finish reading the comic to keep reading the comic although some students have read.

Conclusions

This educative comic is very valid and can be used
