Original articles. These articles include empirical studies on any aspect of research in the field of andrology, sexuality or reproduction including validation and/or adaption of evaluation, structured under the following sections: introduction, methods, results and discussion. Manuscripts will have the structure described in this guide for authors. The maximum length is 3.300 words excluding a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, the key words and up to 35 references. Up to 4 figures or tables will be accepted. The number of authors should not exceed 6. Controlled clinical trials must follow the CONSORT legislation available at http://www.consort-statement.org> and for analytical and observational studies, the STROBE Statement (http://www.strobe-statement.org/) must be used.
Review articles. These articles are solicited by the Editorial Board. Authors interested in publishing an article in this section may contact the journal¿s editors. These manuscripts discuss topics of current importance in andrology. The basic criteria for their acceptance will be the quality of their results, the relevance of the work, and the lack of publications of similar works. The maximum length is 4.800 words excluding an abstract in English and Spanish of 150 words, the key words in Spanish and English. There should be no more than 3 authors.Up to 50 references and up to 4 figures or tables will be accepted. There should be no more than 3 authors.
Meta-analysis. These articles are in the form of a systematic and ordered review of a relevant research topic in the field of Andrology, sexuality, and reproduction. This systematic review, unlike the classic review, must use a quantitative methodology and integrate the results of previous studies. The basic criteria for their acceptance will be the quality of their results, the relevance of the work, and the lack of publications of similar works. The maximum length is 3.300 words including a structured Abstract of 250 words, Keywords, and up to 35 literature references), and their structure (introduction, methods, results and discussion) will be the same as that of the Original works. Priority will be given to systematic reviews and meta-analysis, which have to be conducted and presented in adherence with the PRISMA statement recommendations (http://prisma-statement.org/).
Opinion articles. This section publishes manuscripts on subjects of current importance in andrology that contain novel perspectives for the specialty. The text need not be structured in a particular format but should be logically developed (introduction, development, conclusions). The maximum length is 10 ISO-A4 pages including an abstract in English and Spanish of 150 words for unstructured abstracts (or 250 words for structured abstracts) and key words in Spanish and English. Up to 15 references and up to 2 figures or tables will be accepted.
Letters to the editor. This section includes observations or opinions related to articles recently published in the journal and experiences that can be summarized in a short text. The maximum length is 2 ISO-A4 sheets, with no abstract, and up to 5 references. The number of authors should not exceed 4. Up to 1 figure or 1 table will be accepted.
Other sections. The journal publishes other sections (Editorials, Special articles, among others). Articles published in these sections are solicited by the Editorial Board. Authors interested in publishing in one of these sections should previously contact the journal¿s associate.
