Summary
Introduction

Solitary Fibrous Tumor (SFT) of the skin is an uncommon tumor, not included in the WHO skin tumors classification, which most commonly affects the skin of the head and neck, and suggests clinically the diagnosis of epidermal inclusion cyst. Microscopic and immunohistochemical findings are not different to the other locations.

Patients and methods

A case report of a 49-year-old woman with a painless nodule involving the skin of the right nasal vestibular which fulfilled the criteria for SFT is presented.

Conclusions

We discuss the differential diagnosis problems with CD34 spindle cell neoplasm that typically arise in the skin, and its link with another entity, the sclerotic fibroma, with a common immunoprofile.
