Special issue information:

Respiratory medicine is entering a period of accelerated therapeutic innovation. Advances in molecular biology, precision medicine, immunology, biomedical engineering, digital health, and interventional techniques are generating new treatment options for diseases that remain associated with considerable morbidity, mortality, and unmet clinical needs. However, many promising interventions are still being evaluated in clinical trials or remain at an early stage of clinical development, making it difficult for clinicians to determine which innovations are most likely to influence routine practice in the coming years.This Special Issue, entitled “Future Treatments for Respiratory Diseases”, aims to provide a critical and clinically oriented overview of ongoing clinical trials, emerging therapeutic strategies, and technologies that are not yet routinely used in respiratory care. Its central objective is to explore which treatments clinicians may be able to incorporate into practice by 2028.
