ABSTRACT

This work uses the cognitive theory and presents a holistic analysis of the psychological and sociological components, and the interactions that occur between them, that affect the recognition of technological business opportunities. The research is comprehensive and employs a method based on the case study. As a result, the work provides a new dynamic model in which the interaction and complementarities of entrepreneurs, the proactive management of embeddedness in technological networks, learning and continuous evaluation constitute the evolutionary factors that explain the recognition of technological opportunity.
