A 61-year-old man was admitted because of severe dyspnea and stridor of the larynx. He was a heavy habitual smoker. Chest radiography demonstrated a nodular lesion in the upper third of the trachea which endoscopy revealed to be tumorous and biopsy confirmed as adenocarcinoma. The tumor was resected with rigid endoscopy electrocoagulation which elicited a favourable response and course.
