Interacción entre fenitoína y diversas fórmulas dietéticas artificiales para nutrición enteral
The purpose of the present work was to determine the in vitro interaction between sodium phenytoin and several artificial dietetic enteral products. Their main components were also investigated. Phenytoin was kept in contact with the enteral products during 24 hours at 25 °C. The time of exposition was of 3 hours for the substrates. The results obtained show that protein content decrease phenytoin recuperation whereas fiber allows a better release. After 1.5 hours contact, there are statistically significant differences between phenytoin value in the aqueous control with respect to hyperproteic and standard preparation. There is also a negative correlation between protein content and phenytoin recovered at 0 time. Casein and fatty acid show a significant interaction with the drug. This study demonstrates the existence of an important in vitro interaction between phenytoin and entail products mediated by the protein content with little influence of calcium and magnesium.
