Fundada en 1972 por el profesor A. Oehling, la revista Allergologia et Immunopathologia ha alcanzado un alto grado de difusión y prestigio entre los especialistas en alergología y aparato respiratorio, además de entre los médicos generales y pediatras. Por el elevado nivel científico de los trabajos, así como por la publicación preferente en lengua inglesa, con amplios resúmenes en español, se encuentra incluida en los índices internacionales más prestigiosos como Medline y EMBASE. Sus colaboradores habituales son conocidos investigadores y profesionales de diversos países, lo que ratifica la amplia difusión y aceptación por todos los profesionales.
En la actualidad es el Órgano Oficial de difusión de la Sociedad Española de Inmunología Clínica y Alergología Pediátrica, por lo que cada año en un número monográfico se recogen los trabajos presentados a la reunión anual de la Sociedad, mientras que en los números ordinarios se dan a conocer las actividades propias de la Sociedad. La temática de Allergologia et Immunopathologia no es exclusivamente pediátrica, lo que le confiere a sus trabajos interés general.

Founded in 1972 by Professor A. Oehling, the journal has achieved a high level of circulation and prestige among specialists in allergy and the respiratory system, as well as among general practitioners and paediatricians. Due to the high level of papers submitted, as well as to the preferential publication in the English language, with comprehensive abstracts in Spanish, it is included in the most prestigious international indexes such as Medline and Science Citation Index.
Its regular collaborators are known researchers and professionals from different countries, who reaffirm the wide circulation and acceptance by all professionals. It is currently the official Journal of the Spanish Society of Clinical Immunology and Paediatric Allergy (Sociedad Española de Inmunología Clínica y Alergología Pediátrica), for this reason the papers presented at the Annual Meeting of the Society are published in a special issue each year, while the regular issues provide information on the current activities of the Society.
