Abstract

Electrocution is not an uncommon source of work-related injury and is potentially fatal. We report a case of accidental electrocution, in which metal equipment came into contact with low voltage power lines (380 V). A worker was electrocuted and died. His behaviour was a prime cause in the accident sequence. Autopsy was carried out and the death scene was investigated. The only specific autopsy finding was the electrical mark, which reproduced the object of contact and supported the conclusion that the cause of his death was electrocution. A detailed external examination is advisable in suspicious cases of deaths by electrocution.
