Resumen

En este artículo tratamos de explicar cuales son las repercusiones sociales que conlleva el sufrir un traumatismo craneo-encefálico, intentando explicar el por qué es tan importante el que los aspectos sociales se contemplen dentro del tratamiento médico rehabilitador como una fase más hacia la integración y la aceptación de la discapacidad.

Hablaremos de las diferentes problemáticas que surgen durante las distintas etapas por las que pasan los afectados, remarcaremos la gran importancia del entorno y mencionaremos las dificultades de integración no sólo familiar sino también laboral, de los afectados. El objetivo es informar y concienciar a los profesionales y a la sociedad en general de la complejidad del abordaje de esta patología y de la gran escasez de recursos, sobre todo sociales, para dar respuesta a las necesidades de un colectivo cada vez más numeroso.

Summary

In this article, we try to explain which are the social repercussions that arise from suffering an encephalic cranial traumatism, trying to explain why it is so important for the social aspects to be contemplated within the rehabilitating medical treatment as one more phase towards integration and acceptance of the disability.

We will speak of the different problems that arise during the different stages passed through by the subjects, emphasizing the great importance of the environment and we will mention the familial as well as occupational integration difficulties of those affected. Our objective is to inform the professional clinicians and society in general and make them aware of the complexity of the approach to this disease and the great scarcity of resources, above all, social, to provide a response to the needs of an ever more numerous group.
